“Following the testing of toys, Huggy Waggi will test children's toys in the form of the Cheburashka character,” the message says.

It is clarified that, as part of the preliminary monitoring, experts revealed a stir around the character of Cheburashka against the backdrop of the release of the film of the same name in Russian cinemas.

Roskachestvo noted that the market was flooded with toys with Cheburashka of different quality, the lion's share of which is Chinese products on marketplaces.

The decision to conduct an audit in the organization was associated with frequent negative feedback from consumers about product quality.

“Laboratory tests of Cheburashka toys will include an extensive list of safety indicators, including the release of harmful chemicals, toxicity, irritant action, various microbiological indicators,” explained Elena Saratseva, Deputy Head of Roskachestvo.

In December, Roskachestvo announced that Russian online stores and marketplaces were withdrawing Huggy Waggi children's toys from sale.
