One of the affected services – the chat program Teams – has 280 million users worldwide, writes Reuters.

Thousands of users reported problems, and according to the software company, the vast majority of those using the services were at risk of being affected.

A network error was stated to be behind it.

"What we can say at the moment is that we have identified a possible network problem connected to our services and further troubleshooting is underway," Microsoft's Swedish press department wrote in an email to SVT Nyheter at 09:00.

Affected users had, among other things, problems sending emails and accessing documents saved online.
