A call for witnesses was launched by the gendarmes after the worrying disappearance of a young man of 23 years in Méribel, in Savoie.

Originally from Ille-et-Vilaine, he was seasonal and worked as a cook in a restaurant in the resort.

He has not given a sign of life since January 19, reports France 3 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

Maël Briand lived in a shared apartment with another seasonal worker.

The day of his disappearance, he would have gone for a walk but never returned.

His employers worried about not seeing him take up his service, they alerted the gendarmes.

Without money

According to the missing man's sister, who posted a wanted notice on Facebook, the police tried to geolocate the young man's cell phone, but the device does not transmit.

“He sent messages, photos or videos every day since he left for Méribel.

And since Wednesday, nothing, we do not understand.

He has no money on him.

So, logically, he can't go very far, ”the young man's father told France 3 Bretagne.
