It is noted that Boke turned to the migration unit of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow.

Employees of the migration unit accepted Boke's application for recognition as a refugee in Russia.

The ministry said that the decision would be made on the basis of federal legislation, taking into account data on the persecution of the journalist Boke for his active pro-Russian position.

Earlier, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk, announced the readiness of the department to consider the issue of granting asylum to Boke if they receive a corresponding application from him.

RIA Novosti reported, citing a source, that a French citizen, former military Adrian Boke, who covered the events in the Donbass, had asked for political asylum in Russia.

Before that, Boke said that on September 26 in Istanbul he was attacked by two people armed with a knife.

In an interview with RT, he gave details of the attack.

In his opinion, the Security Service of Ukraine was involved in the attack.
