Villas, luxury cars, heaps of cash and cryptoassets: since the creation in 2011 of the Agency for the Management and Recovery of Seized and Confiscated Assets (Agrasc), the amount of seizures of assets resulting from crime beats every year records.

It amounted to 725 million euros seized in 2021, and 592 million euros in 2020. That is an increase of 30% between 2020 and 2022.

These "unprecedented" results can be attributed in particular to the creation since 2021 of four regional branches of Agrasc, in Marseille, Lyon, Rennes and Lille, and the almost doubling of the Agency's workforce, from 45 in 2020. to 83 in 2022, underlines the Chancellery.

Three new branches are to "

 " in Bordeaux, Nancy and Fort-de-France, the Keeper of the Seals Eric Dupond-Moretti confirmed on Monday in Coudekerque-Branche (Nord), where he handed over the keys to the "first building seized by the courts from an association.

Agrasc, which administratively manages seized ill-gotten assets, such as goodwill, luxury vehicles or yachts, can also since an April 2021 law passed by the Minister of Justice make some of the real estate available. seized for the benefit of associations.

In 2022, the Agency sold a total of 168 buildings for an amount of 35.2 million euros, an increase of 31.3% compared to the previous year, but also 4,221 movable assets, against 2,453 in 2021.
