But police have not yet released the names of the three other women and five men killed in the attack.

  Tran used to be a regular at the Monterey Park ballroom, where he taught informal dance lessons and met his ex-wife, three sources who knew Tran said.

  Tran married in 2001 and divorced five years later, citing irreconcilable differences, Los Angeles Superior Court records show.

The couple has no children, no joint property, and neither party is required to pay alimony.

  In memory of the victims of the shooting, US President Biden ordered the White House and other federal government buildings to lower their flags at half-staff on the 22nd.

United Nations Secretary-General Guterres also issued a statement through his spokesperson on the 23rd, saying that he was shocked and saddened by the shooting incident in Monterey Park and wished the wounded a speedy recovery.

According to US media, this is the worst mass shooting in Los Angeles County since 2008 and the fifth mass shooting in the United States since 2023.
