  At 10:22 p.m. local time on the 21st, a shooting occurred at a ballroom and dance school called "Star Dance Studio" on Jiawei Avenue in Monterey Park, Los Angeles County. Ten people were injured, some seriously.

  Los Angeles County Police Department and local government officials held a joint press conference on the afternoon of the 23rd to report the latest investigation results of the case.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna confirmed the death toll in the Monterey Park mass shooting has now risen to 11.

One injured person was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment, but died of his injuries.

  The press conference also released information on some of the victims, including two female victims, My Nhan and Lilan Li, aged 65 and 63, and a 68-year-old male victim, Alvaro Valentino.

According to US media reports, 5 men and 5 women were killed on the spot in the shooting incident, and some of the wounded in the hospital are still in critical condition.

  The suspect in the worst shooting incident in Los Angeles County in recent years was 72-year-old Huu Can Tran, a resident of Hemet, Southern California, who shot himself dead after being surrounded by police in Torrance on the 22nd.

Robert Luna said that the police found a rifle and a large amount of ammunition and other items in the suspect's home. The motive for the crime is still unclear and the police will continue to investigate.

  After the shooting incident in Monterey Park on the evening of the 21st, the suspect also went to the Lai Lai Ballroom & Studio in neighboring Alhambra with a gun. Fortunately, the people at the scene struggled to take his gun away.
