“In 2019, Brazil officially asked Russia to change, as an exception, the order of BRICS presidency,” the ministry said.
The Brazilian authorities explained their decision by the country's plans to lead the G20 in 2024.
It is noted that Moscow responded positively to the request of Brazil.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia shares the priorities of South Africa's BRICS chairmanship.
