The Council of Muslim Elders strongly condemns the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran in Sweden
The Council of Muslim Elders, chaired by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Chairman of the Council of Muslim Elders, strongly condemned what an extremist in Sweden did of burning a copy of the Holy Quran.
In a statement, the Council affirmed that the outcast's act of burning a copy of the Holy Qur'an is a clear provocation to the feelings of nearly two billion Muslims around the world.
He expressed his rejection of this criminal behaviour.
Which contradicts human values and principles and proves a repugnant racism that all human civilizations reject, stressing that such violations fuel the rhetoric of extremism and terrorism, and undermine efforts to spread the values of peace and human coexistence, calling for the need to stop broadcasting hate speech and provoking sedition, and respecting the beliefs of others, Not to offend religious sanctities.
