Swedish Presidency: EU countries agree on new package of sanctions against Iran

"At today's meeting of foreign ministers, the ministers adopted a new package of sanctions against Iran," the statement said.

It is noted that the EU condemns the "brutal" use of force by the Iranian authorities against peaceful demonstrators.

On January 6, the United States imposed sanctions on several Iranians allegedly linked to "supplies of drones to Russia."

The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the EU will expand sanctions pressure on Russia and those who provide military assistance to Moscow.
