BEIJING, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) According to Russian Satellite Network, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the new US ambassador to Russia Lynn Tracy will arrive in Russia in the near future.

"In the next few days," Ryabkov told reporters in response to related questions.

On September 20, 2022, US President Biden nominated Tracy as the US ambassador to Russia, replacing the former US ambassador to Russia Sullivan who resigned in early September.

Tracy, a career diplomat, has served as the U.S. ambassador to Armenia since 2019 and previously served as a senior adviser on Russian affairs in the U.S. State Department's Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.

She has also worked in U.S. diplomatic missions in Turkmenistan, Pakistan, and Kazakhstan, among other places.

On December 21, 2022, the U.S. Senate approved Lynn Tracy as the U.S. ambassador to Russia.

Tracy is the first woman to serve as the U.S. ambassador to Russia.

On January 13, 2023, U.S. State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel stated that Tracy would arrive in Moscow in the near future.
