The Socialist Party cannot come to an agreement.

A few days after the election of the new secretary general and despite a recount of the votes which confirms the victory of Olivier Faure, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol is still contesting the results.

The mayor of Rouen denounces in particular "fraudulent practices" during these elections.

Is the Socialist Party going through the worst crisis in its history?

Four days before the congress scheduled for this weekend in Marseille, the party still cannot get into battle order.

Olivier Faure claims victory and therefore the post of secretary general after recounting the ballots.

Results disputed by Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol who denounces a passage in force.

The case turns into a fiasco.

“We still do not have an indisputable result”

Officially, Olivier Faure is re-elected with 51% of the votes.

After recounting each ballot for three days.

But Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol does not intend to let it go and believes he has won this election.

"I will never accept that democracy is not respected and I will never compromise on these principles," he insists.

"And I denounce fraudulent practices that have existed in the Socialist Party for too long. And the result of the races is that we still do not have an indisputable result."

Concretely, the mayor of Rouen denounces ballots without an envelope, ballot boxes filled before the opening of the vote or replaced at the last moment.

Faced with such accusations, Olivier Faure criticizes his opponent for denying the reality of the vote.

Finally, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol threatens to take the case to court if the first secretary remains entrenched in his positions.
