“Russian and Syrian military personnel have restored the Dzheyrakh airfield in the northern part of the SAR, which was destroyed during the hostilities,” the ministry said in a statement.

It is noted that the joint deployment of Russian and Syrian aviation will provide an opportunity to cover the state border, as well as ensure the safety of civilians.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the issue of normalizing relations between Syria and Turkey during telephone conversations.
