On the night of the 21st, the suspect who opened fire at a ballroom in Monterey Park, Los Angeles, USA, was Hugh Cantran, a 72-year-old Asian man.



Police investigation revealed that after the first crime, he moved to another ballroom about 5 km away to commit an additional crime, but ran away when his weapon was taken away by two citizens.

Most of the 20 casualties are known to be Chinese in their 50s and 60s, but one additional injured person died, bringing the death toll to 11. increased in number.

The police are investigating whether the crime was caused by resentment, considering that the suspect often went to the ballroom.



Acquaintances are known to have testified that the suspect recently visited the police station, saying that his family was trying to poison him, and that on the day of the accident, he was angry that only his wife was invited to a ballroom event.



Local residents canceled all scheduled Lunar New Year events and paid tribute to the victims.
