The document was signed during a visit to Algeria by Italian Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni.
“We seek partnership to increase growth prospects to build bridges between the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and stabilize the region,” she said.
Meloni called Algeria a "reliable partner" of "absolute strategic importance".
Earlier, the Italian oil and gas company Eni announced that a new gas field was found off the coast of Egypt in the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
