The news would not come as a surprise.

According to the

New York Times

, it had even been in the air since the midterm elections.

The daily thus reports that Ron Klain would have confided to certain collaborators that after “

a grueling and uninterrupted period alongside Joe Biden, he was ready to move on

 ”.

For the moment, neither the White House nor Ron Klain confirm the information.

But US media say the official announcement of the resignation could come after Joe Biden's annual State of the Union address scheduled for February 7.

One of the longest tenures in this position

Ron Klain has served as Joe Biden's chief of staff for more than two years.

One of the longest terms in office under a Democratic president in more than 50 years.

Generally, it is a position that knows a lot of change because of the great responsibilities attached to it.

The departure of Ron Klain comes at a key moment in the presidency.

We are still waiting for Joe Biden to declare himself a candidate for 2024. And above all, the president is facing a lot of pressure because of the

affair of the confidential documents

found at his home.

Ron Klain's successor may have many storms to deal with.
