The material says that the government has denounced the agreement, according to which, since 2018, the presence of the French armed forces has been regulated.

“The denunciation, carried out on January 18, 2023, according to the terms of the agreement, gives the French Armed Forces one month to leave the territory of Burkina Faso,” writes AIB.

On October 1, Le Faso reported that a military coup took place in Burkina Faso, as a result of which Lieutenant Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba was overthrown.

The authorities there also ordered the suspension of the French radio station Radio France Internationale (RFI) and the distribution of its programs throughout the country.
