He called untrue the words of the German Minister of Economics Robert Habek that Russia allegedly "turned off the tap."

“Russia wanted and was ready to continue gas supplies to the EU and Germany,” Strache quoted RIA Novosti as saying.

The politician stressed that further pipeline supplies were blocked by Ukraine and Poland, and Russia was not allowed to investigate the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream.

Strache noted that the German authorities prefer not to tell their voters the truth in the face of energy shortages and possible power outages.

“Because then they would have to admit that they themselves are responsible for this negative development,” he concluded.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Germany managed to overcome its dependence on Russian energy resources.
