26-year-old Franco-Spanish

man has accused the French police of having caused him to lose a testicle by a blow he received in the crotch while he was photographing the demonstration against the pension reform on January 19 in Paris.

As confirmed to Efe by his lawyer, Lucie Simon, the young man will file a lawsuit for

"voluntary violence that causes mutilation"

by a person depository of public authority.

According to Simon, this crime is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

In statements to Franceinfo, the Paris Prefecture announced that it has asked the director in charge of public order "

for clarification on the exact circumstances of

the incident", while the government spokesman, Olivier Véran, demanded "a clear investigation", in demonstrations to the BFMTV channel.

The lawyer confirmed to Efe that the alleged victim is Iván S., a Franco-Spanish engineer who works for a large company on the French island of Guadalupe (Antilles).

The newspaper "Libération" collects his testimony.

In it,

he denounces that, while taking pictures

, he was unexpectedly attacked in the crotch by an agent.

A video circulating on the networks and a snapshot shown by "Libération" show how a young man

with glasses and a red cap is hit

with a baton as he falls to the ground.

"The policeman comes out of nowhere, takes a run and throws himself on top of me with all his weight while he hits me

hard with the truncheon at the level of my crotch

," says the young man, who later recounts having been admitted to the hospital for severe pain in the testicle.

The Franco-Spanish,

still "shocked"

by what happened, remembers what they told him at the hospital: "The operation went very well, we have amputated your right testicle."
