A man is arrested in Mislata for trying to assault his partner and injure a young man who helped her with a knife

, have arrested a man in the Valencian town after allegedly trying to kill his partner and wounding a young man who came to his aid with a large knife.

The events occurred around 3:45 p.m. last Tuesday, when the police officers were commissioned by the 091 Room to go to a bar in

where apparently there was a couple fighting, the security forces and bodies have reported in a statement.

Upon arrival at the establishment, the agents found a man, held by a Mislata Local Police patrol, who was wearing a blood-stained T-shirt and was in a "great state of nervousness."

When interviewing the man, he freely told them that he intended to kill his partner "for reasons of jealousy."

The agents collected all the information about what happened and found out that, shortly before, the couple had been having a drink at the bar when

At one point, the man had allegedly grabbed a large knife from inside the bar and began to chase the woman into the bathroom, where she took refuge in fear of being assaulted as the suspect pounded on the door.

Likewise, the police found out that a young man, who was on the premises and witnessed the events, came to the aid of the victim.

Apparently, he struggled with the assailant and managed to disarm him, but

Seeing himself unarmed, the assailant fled and ran out of the premises, when he was accidentally hit by a vehicle when crossing the street.

Finally, the man was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of attempted homicide and another of violence in the family, and transferred to a health center to be treated for the injuries suffered.

The arrested man, 38 years old,

and without a police record, has gone to court.
