Argentina's 'soccer hero' Lionel Messi's face has appeared on murals and tattoos, and this time on cornfields.

Reuters recently reported that Maximiliano Spinase, a farmer living in Argentina, has carved Messi's face into a cornfield in Los Condores, Córdoba.

Its area alone amounts to 501,810 square meters (150,000 pyeong), and Spinase said, "I started this work after Argentina won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar."

In particular, he is known to have collaborated with agricultural engineer Carlos Parisei to plant seeds in precise locations.

"I designed the coding to plant seeds in a specific location," said Parisey. "Through the algorithm, the planter calculated how many seeds should be planted per square meter."

They explain that the areas where more seeds were planted turn dark green when the corn grows later, which contrasts with the areas where they are not.

Meanwhile, Messi is a key player in leading his country's victory by scoring two goals against France in last year's World Cup final in Qatar.

As a result, a 70m-sized Messi mural appeared in Rosario, Argentina, Messi's hometown.

"Messi is invincible," said Spinase, who celebrated his World Cup victory using his farm.

"Any farmer with the guts to try it can use this algorithm," he added.
