In the United States, a woman in her 70s shot and killed her husband at the request of his last minute due to an incurable disease.
According to the New York Times, 76-year-old Ellen Gilland of Florida shot and killed her husband, 77-year-old Jerry Gilland, inside her hospital room on the morning of the 21st (local time).
Investigation by local police found that the husband had asked his wife to kill him three weeks before the incident if her health deteriorated.
Police said the husband had originally intended to take his own life, but it appears that she left the job to her wife because she lacked the strength.
The woman who killed her husband shot her husband and then tried to make the extreme choice with her gun herself, but she didn't, police added.
After an hour-long standoff, police arrested the woman and no one was hurt, the New York Times said.
