• Massive politics march against Sánchez and for the Constitution: "It is about defending democracy"

Tens of thousands of people packed the Plaza de Cibeles this Saturday and spread out along Calle de Alcalá, towards Sol and towards Plaza de la Independencia, towards

Neptuno

and towards

Colón

.

The nerve center of

Madrid

occupied by a crowd protesting against a policy, that of the coalition government chaired by Pedro Sánchez, which "disarms the State", "deteriorates the institutions" and "weakens democracy."

Convened by almost a hundred associations and civil society groups, the citizens cried out against "the Government of lies" and "dark pacts", in evident reference to the alliance and the president's concessions to formations such as ERC and EH Bildu , essential until now to stay in power, and against "the drift" that, consequently, they believe has taken the country.

Hundreds of

Spanish

flags and banners accusing

Sánchez

of "treason", asking for the "resignation" of the Government, demanding the cornering of separatism and demanding "democracy" against "dictatorship", expressed the sentiment of a massive mobilization that counted on the explicit support from the opposition parties: PP, Ciudadanos and Vox.

All of them sent delegations to the concentration but only Vox had the presence of its top leader, Santiago Abascal.

The absence of Alberto Núñez Feijóo, not known in advance, was no longer striking.

The leader of the PP justified his non-attendance in the desire to let the leading role and the predominant voice be that of the citizens, regardless of his ideological affiliation.

Despite this, it was difficult to ignore the ultimate intention of not offering the political adversary a new photo of Colón that serves to feed the drawing made by the PSOE and Unidas Podemos of a pairing of the popular with the extreme right, thus sending a message of fear in the face of what that they can reserve the ballot boxes in the next elections.

As in Spanish politics the argument of one and the other is well known, the organizations calling for the concentration -

Foro España Cívica and the Fundación Libertad y Alternativa

- They emphasized that the protest was "neither from the left, nor from the right nor from the center", but rather to demonstrate that citizens "do not remain impassive in the face of the serious erosion of institutions, the deterioration of democracy and the weakening of the State », as stated in the manifesto read during the act that demanded «a Spain united with equal rights» and put its finger on the sore spot of the latest reform of the Penal Code sponsored by the Government to benefit those who tried to subvert the constitutional order by breaking the unity of the nation, alluding to the leaders of the secessionist attempt of 1-O in Catalonia and now preferential support of the

Sánchez

Executive .

The argument that the Spanish did not vote at the polls "what is happening" throbbed at the bottom of the proclamations.

In short, the reproach to a leader of the PSOE who promised to the citizens "not to support governability" in those who attempted a "coup d'état" and who stated, as a principle of his policy, "to fight against corruption and for democratic regeneration.

For the protesters who went to Cibeles,

Sánchez

has betrayed these promises and the latest evidence has been the reform of the Criminal Code that has repealed the crime of sedition and has reduced the penalties for embezzlement and, before that, the pardons granted to the leaders of the

process

condemned by the

Supreme Court

.

Added to this complaint was the rejection of the only yes is yes law, which has already led to more than two hundred sentence reductions for sexual offenders and which, for the moment, the Government refuses to rectify.

On this aspect, the vice-secretary of Organization of the PP, Miguel Tellado

, emphasized

, accusing Sánchez of "arrogance" and "incompetence".

Tellado was one of the leaders who attended the mobilization together with MEP

Dolors Montserrat

;

the vice-secretary for Autonomous Coordination,

Pedro Rollán

;

the president of Nuevas Generaciones,

Beatriz Fanju

l and the candidates for mayor of Barcelona and Pamplona,

Daniel Sirera

and

Carlos García Adanero

(former UPN).

On the part of Cs, his new leader, Patricia Guasp

, did not attend the appointment either .

Representing the party were the spokesperson in Congress, Inés Arrimadas, and her deputy,

Guillermo Díaz

, as well as the deputy mayor of Madrid,

Begoña Villacís.

The president of Vox,

Santiago Abascal

, who did participate in the rally, advocated keeping the tension and "mass mobilization" alive until he was able to "expel the autocrat Sánchez from power."

In his opinion, Spain suffers from "the worst government of democracy" delivered to "lies" and "dark pacts" with the "enemies of the nation."
