"The #Marche21Janvier is a huge success", exclaimed on Twitter Colin Champion, president of the La Voix Lycéenne union.

The object of his happiness: the participation figure given by his youth organization and the other partner organizations, which estimated that 150,000 people had marched on Saturday afternoon in the capital against the pension reform.

Two days earlier, another day of protest against pension reform had brought together between one and two million people across France, according to police or CGT estimates.

The bill provides in particular for the decline of the legal retirement age from 62 to 64 years and must be presented Monday in the Council of Ministers.

The stated objective of Saturday's parade was to obtain a mobilization at least equal to that of the "march against high prices" organized by the Mélenchonists and which had drained 140,000 participants according to the organizers, 30,000 according to the police.
