Tesla CEO Elon Musk has fired about 80% of its employees after acquiring Twitter, a social media company.



According to Twitter internal data reported by economic media CNBC on the 20th (local time), Twitter, which once had 7,500 people, has now reduced to a company with 1,300 full-time employees.



According to the manpower restructuring, the number of engineers, the core manpower, was reduced to less than 550, and the manpower in the 'Trust and Safety' department, which is in charge of protecting users from illegal content, was reduced to less than 20 people.



CNBC broadcasting said, "As Musk exercised management rights, Twitter drastically reduced its staff through large-scale layoffs and resignation following the end of the telecommuting," and explained, "It cut a lot more personnel than originally expected."



In addition, CNBC reported that 130 people hired from other companies run by Musk, such as Tesla and space exploration company SpaceX, are currently working at Twitter.
