A few days ago, influencer Crazy Sally posted a video on Instagram in which she accused the board game "You laugh, you lose" of conveying racist stereotypes.

Aziz Aboudrar, the creator of the game, meanwhile apologized, saying that the cards "which may have been misinterpreted" will be removed.

Jokes that convey clichés about the black, Arab, Portuguese or Asian community... On Monday, influencer Crazy Sally posted a video on Instagram in which she explains that she was "shocked" by the board game "You're laughing , you lose", published by the Dujardin company, which consists of "a duel of not funny jokes to make his opponent laugh".

“Not funny”, perhaps, but for the influencer, the real problem lies in the fact that the card game would convey “racist jokes or at least armored with prejudice”, as she writes on her account.

"What's the limit for jokes today?"

On some of the 270 cards in the game, we can read "what do you call a carpool in Africa? A Bou ba Car (Boubakar)";

"How do you say 'snatch robbery' in Arabic? Rachid-style robbery" or "what do you call a bus full of migrants? a suspicious car (kehlouche)", an "extremely pejorative term that denigrates black people," says Crazy Sally.

Accents, Caribbean or Asian for example, are also mocked in the game.

"For you, what is the limit of jokes today? Am I too sensitive or is the limit well exceeded in this game?" Asks the influencer.

But initially, the concept of this board game comes from a series of videos posted on YouTube from 2015 by comedian Aziz Aboudrar and which quickly become very popular.

One of them, shot with the players of Paris Saint-Germain, even exceeds 14 million views.

Faced with the controversy, Aziz Aboudrar apologized on his Instagram account.

“I would like to offer my most sincere apologies to all the people who may have been hurt, offended, saddened by some of the awkward, but not ill-intentioned jokes in the game,” he wrote.

"All the jokes were taken from the various videos published on my YouTube channel between 2017 and 2019. We are going to have an exchange with the teams to remove from the game certain cards which may have been misinterpreted", announces the actor.
