The investigation is evolving, after the death in suspicious conditions of a two-month-old baby in the Basque Country.

Brought to the Bayonne hospital on Tuesday, he was quickly transported, given his injuries, to the Bordeaux University Hospital where he died on the night of Wednesday January 18 to Thursday January 19.

The parents living in Hendaye (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) were this Friday at the end of the afternoon, being presented before an examining magistrate, for acts of "violence having caused death without intention to give it to a minor of 15 years per ascendant, and non-assistance to person in danger on person of 15 years.

Facts punishable respectively by 30 years and seven years of criminal imprisonment.

The Bayonne public prosecutor's office made requisitions for placement in pre-trial detention.

The child "presented multiple injuries to the body and head" specifies the Bayonne prosecutor's office.

The father, aged 20, would have advanced during his police custody in the premises of the judicial police of Bayonne, "involuntary violence", while the mother, aged 18, "does not explain" ensuring " not having dealt a blow.
