• Justice The TC magistrate chosen by Moncloa abstains from 25% because she previously endorsed the Generalitat

The Plenary of

the Constitutional Court

will address next Tuesday, in its first jurisdictional meeting, the abstention of former Justice Minister

Juan Carlos Campo

in the appeal filed against the

law of only yes is yes

promoted by the Ministry of Equality.

Campo was part of the Executive during the processing of the aforementioned legislative project.

According to legal sources, President

Cándido Conde-Pumpido

has decided to include on the agenda for the next plenary session both the abstention of both Campo and the former high office of Moncloa, Professor Laura Díez.

Specifically, the Plenary will study that the former minister does not participate in the processing and deliberation of the

law of only yes is yes

in addition to three other appeals filed against decisions of the president of the Congress of Deputies,

Meritxell Batet,

his current sentimental partner .

The court sources consulted maintain that the initiative to propose his abstention came from the former head of Justice.

Specifically, these are three procedures where the appellants are PP, Vox and the deputy

Alberto Casero

against decisions adopted by Batet on February 3 of last year when the labor reform was voted.

Both political formations and Casero himself have decided to go to the TC considering that the president of the Lower House should have allowed Casero's vote to be rectified.

Likewise, as this newspaper reported yesterday, the magistrates will also debate Laura Díez's abstention in the appeal presented against the decree-law of the Generalitat that prevents the obligation for 25 percent of the classes in Catalan classrooms to be in Spanish.
