A 14-year-old boy was arrested on January 11 in Annecy (Haute-Savoie) as part of an investigation into a fire that destroyed two apartments four days earlier.

He admitted to being the author of the fireworks that caused the fire.

The young boy, unknown to justice, was received by a magistrate who placed him under judicial control on January 12, reports

on Wednesday.

He told the police "having acted out of stupidity".

The teenager was part of groups meeting in the Teppes district to shoot fireworks.

One of its rockets aimed at a building had landed on an 8th floor balcony.

The fire had taken in an apartment before devastating another dwelling.

The person in charge was imposed a probation, an obligation to point to the police station and a ban on going to the district of the fire.

He would have been confused by a video relayed on social networks.

Following the disaster, a nonagenarian and a family lost their belongings and had to be relocated.
