On Friday, January 20, a new chancellor will be chosen for the University of Gothenburg, and everything points to it being Malin Broberg, who also has the support of the hearing assembly, which acts as an advisor before the decision.

But before the next headmaster recruitment, the routines may change, according to Dagens Nyheter.

Want greater transparency in recruitment

The criticism that came from the teacher representatives and from the hearing assembly is not about her, but is based on the fact that they were not given any insight into the recruitment before there were only a few applicants left - something that, according to them, may have excluded relevant applicants.

The universities have a tradition of a board with great employee influence, which has given this issue attention both during this recruitment and when the current rector was appointed.

Now Peter Larsson, who is chairman of the University of Gothenburg, says that they are taking the criticism to heart and that he wants to redo the recruitment process for future rector appointments.

- We have taken impressions and you can do this in a different way, you can, he says to SVT Nyheter Väst.

- A danger is that the rector who is appointed does not have the trust that one would like, says Eric Hanse, professor at Sahlgrenska Academy.
