Poll: The majority of Americans demand an investigation of President Biden in the case of classified documents

Nearly two-thirds of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, support a congressional investigation into President Joe Biden's mishandling of classified documents, according to a new poll.

According to the New York Post, a Yahoo News/YouGov poll released the night before revealed that 64% of US adults and 52% of Democrats are calling for lawmakers "investigating classified documents found in Biden's home and post-vice-presidential office." .

Only 16% of Americans and 27% of Democrats oppose a congressional investigation into the scandal.

The poll also found that Americans disagree with some Democrats and liberal media that say the 80-year-old commander-in-chief's classified materials scandal is less serious than former President Donald Trump's handling of presidential papers.

Biden's defenders argue that he removed far fewer documents from the White House than Trump did and, unlike Trump, quickly returned them to the National Archives when they were discovered.

Only 31% of Americans said the Biden case is "less serious" than Trump's.

And 32% described the Biden scandal as "equally serious," while 21% said Biden was "more dangerous" than the Trump scandal.

According to the poll, a congressional investigation into Biden's storage of highly sensitive papers at the Ben Biden Research Center and his home in Wilmington, Delaware, is the most popular of several that House Republicans have pledged to conduct.

The new poll showed the president's job approval rating has remained unchanged since mid-December at 43%.

The President's job approval rating doesn't seem to suffer from scandal.

The poll was conducted on 1,538 American adults between January 12 and 16.
