At the meeting, Li Jiachao reviewed the key work of the new SAR government for more than half a year and said that since the establishment of the new SAR government, the team has been united and has a common concept of "results as the goal", each performing its own duties and complementing each other's advantages , work solidly with a positive attitude.

In his outlook on work in 2023, Li Jiachao mentioned that after Hong Kong resumed "customs clearance" with the mainland, the relevant ports are operating well, and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed rail has also resumed operation.

As of the 18th, a total of more than 200,000 Hong Kong people went to the mainland through various ports.

The SAR government will maintain communication and coordination with the relevant departments in the Mainland to achieve comprehensive "customs clearance" as soon as possible.

He and his team will visit Guangdong as soon as possible to meet and communicate with officials from Guangdong Province and mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area.

The SAR government will also work with the business and professional circles to organize a series of activities to attract tourists back to Hong Kong.

In addition, Li Jiachao also mentioned that the SAR government will propose amendments to the "Legal Practitioners Ordinance" as soon as possible to deal with the issue of overseas lawyers without local full qualifications participating in national security cases, and complete the legislation of Article 23 of the Hong Kong Basic Law as soon as possible.

At the meeting, Li Jiachao announced that in consideration of factors such as the establishment of a solid mixed immune barrier in the society, the improvement of the local medical system's prevention and control capabilities under the epidemic, the fact that the "customs clearance" with the Mainland did not increase the risk of the epidemic, and the improvement of the society and citizens' ability to deal with the new crown, etc. From the 30th of this month, the "quarantine order" for confirmed cases was officially revoked.

Afterwards, Li Jiachao answered questions from 12 congressmen present, covering aspects such as "customs clearance", the restoration of people's livelihood and economy, and the construction of the SAR government.

Regarding the issue of "customs clearance" that members of parliament are generally concerned about, Li Jiachao said that the situation of citizens "queuing up in long queues" at individual nucleic acid testing stations should be dealt with as soon as possible. The relevant policy bureaus of the SAR government sorted out the information of the testing stations and distributed them to the citizens.

Li Jiachao said that the SAR government communicates with relevant parties in the Mainland every day, and finally has a clear goal of canceling the nucleic acid clearance, and relevant discussions will take time.

However, I am optimistic about this and hope to achieve the goal in the short term.

For cross-border school children, nucleic acid tests can be replaced by rapid antigen tests as soon as possible.

Regarding the fiscal deficit of the SAR government for three consecutive years, Li Jiachao said that the revenue and expenditure of the SAR government in the past three years reflected the troubles caused by the new crown epidemic.

As Hong Kong gradually emerges from the haze of the epidemic and reconnects with the international community, I believe the future economic situation is optimistic.

The question-and-answer session lasted an hour and a half.
