“Over the coming weeks, the working group will jointly develop proposals that we will submit to the review of the deputies of the State Duma, namely, what needs to be done so that the harm from smoking / vaping these vapes in society is reduced, brought to zero among young people and adolescents,” the deputy said.

Metelev himself believes that an “absolutely sound approach” should be developed in the issue of regulating vapes, since teenagers use them in a “non-stop mode”: in cafes, on the streets, in cinemas, and even in schools.

In addition, the authorities will have to think about controlling the circulation of vapes through customs, "because there are a lot of counterfeit products," the parliamentarian added.

Earlier, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin instructed relevant committees of the Duma to make proposals on a possible ban on vapes.

Rospotrebnadzor emphasized that they conceptually support any initiatives aimed at preserving the health of the population.
