There has been much talk in recent years about what has become known as the "Abrahamic religion", which calls for the fusion of the three monotheistic religions (Islam, Christianity and Judaism) into one new religion, but the controversy has not stopped over this scheme, and Islamic institutions and personalities have declared their categorical rejection of it due to its dangerous repercussions on beliefs. and Islamic constants, in addition to its repercussions on the Palestinian cause.

The academic and Islamic preacher, Muhammad Yusri Ibrahim - who was a guest on the "Mawazine" program - described the "Abrahamic Religion" project or scheme as an organized plot directed at religions, especially Islam, as the owners of this project began to talk about rapprochement between religions and then unify them in order to merge them into a global religion. One, stressing the consensus of Muslims on its invalidity and the insistence on confronting it because it contradicts the beliefs and constants of the nation.

He stressed that the "Abrahamic House" project, which was established by the UAE in Abu Dhabi, is one of the terms of the "Abrahamic religion", which has more than 20 terms promoted today by global political forces, institutions, universities and international centers.

It is noteworthy that the "Abrahamic Religion" project was widely attacked by the International Union of Muslim Scholars, which described it as false and rejected in form and subject matter. The Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, considered that the "Abrahamic Religion" confiscates freedom of belief, freedom of faith and choice.

As for political science and international relations professor Issam Abdel Shafi, he noted that the schemes targeting Islam and Muslims are systematic schemes dating back to 1993 after the signing of the Oslo Accords, when former Israeli President Shimon Peres went out to talk about the "new Middle East" and wrote a book with this title.

Talking about the “Abrahamic path” or the “Abrahamic religion” or other names is not the result of the last 5 years or the normalization agreements that were called the Abraham Accords in 2020, as Abdel Shafi says. Rather, there is a group of studies, papers and official reports that preceded this step by 10 years, referring to a document issued at Harvard University in 2013 called the "Path of Abraham", and an official document issued by the University of Florida in 2015 talking about the "Abrahamic Federation".

In 2013, a special department called the "Department of Strategic Dialogue with Civil Society" was formed within the US State Department when it was headed by Hillary Clinton.

The "Directorate of Strategic Dialogue with Civil Society" included 50 diplomats and 50 so-called spiritual leaders in the Arab region or the Middle East, meaning clerics from the three religions (Islam, Christianity and Judaism). The aim was to benefit from the great influence of religious figures in the Middle East. And the Arab region to push towards the Abrahamic path.

Since then, spiritual diplomacy has emerged, which aims to employ religion in the service of political agendas, or what is known as the American strategy in the Middle East.

Billions of dollars are pumped to change the religious discourse

To promote these beliefs - adds the professor of political science and international relations - research centers, civil institutions and dozens of entities that were established before and after Israeli normalization with the UAE, Bahrain and others were used.

He stressed that there are billions of dollars pumped into the media and dozens of events organized annually in an attempt to change the religious discourse and distort the identity and beliefs of the peoples of the region.

Abdel Shafi stressed that the US administrations are linked to strategic interests and there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats on the issue of the "Abrahamic path". The party that established the principle is the administration of former President George W. The role of spiritual leaders in the Arab region. Documents about the "Abrahamic religion" appeared at that time, then Donald Trump came to lay the practical and practical foundations within a broader framework called the "Deal of the Century", and then the current President Joe Biden came to confirm such trends.

Regarding the connection between the “Abrahamic religion” and the “deal of the century,” Kamal al-Khatib, deputy head of the Islamic Movement in the Palestinian interior, said that the connection is very clear. The Abraham Accord between the Emirates and Israel states that all people of religions who are descendants of Abraham must pray on the Temple Mount, which is the Hebrew name for the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which means taking legitimacy from the Arabs that Al-Aqsa Mosque is not exclusive to Muslims, and it is a dangerous clause because it gives an alleged right to the Jews to pray. In the mosque, as Al-Khatib confirmed.

Al-Khatib underestimated the possibility of success of the "Abrahamic religion" scheme because of its collision with the beliefs, principles and history of the Islamic nation.
