According to Météo France forecasts, the weather will be rainy and snowy on Thursday in the South-West, with moderate snow in the Pyrenees, and cold elsewhere.

The Pyrénées-Atlantiques and the Hautes-Pyrénées were placed in orange vigilance from 4 p.m. for snow-ice and the Landes for flooding of the average Adour.

This Wednesday evening and next night, snowy passages will follow one another in the Pyrenean departments.

On the Pyrénées-Atlantiques and the Hautes-Pyrénées, the amounts of snow will reach 2 to 5 cm in the plains, 10 cm from 300/400m altitude.

A thin layer of snow in the Toulouse region

In the Toulouse region, the snowy passage of the evening could give a thin layer of snow in places, 1 to 3 cm are possible at low altitude from the Toulouse noon to Carcassonne.

This falls under the yellow vigilance level.

Thursday at midday, a new disturbance will arrive on the Atlantic coast and will bring overcast weather with light to moderate rains in the plain.

On the Pyrenees and its foothills, we expect a good layer of snow from 200 m altitude.

This weather will persist in the afternoon and evening from the Vendée to the South-West.

In the evening and the following night, these precipitations will reach Languedoc-Roussillon with snow at very low altitude.

On the Aquitaine coast and the Pyrenees, the west wind at 80 km / h will accompany this disturbed weather.

Further north, and on the Massif Central, the weather will remain very cloudy and cold with a few snow showers which could bleach the ground in places.

In the morning, the greyness will be very frequent from the Ardennes to the Centre.

Drier weather in Hauts-de-France

Even further north, in Hauts-de-France, the weather will on the contrary be drier and the clearings will be wider.

On the Southeast, the weather will be bright and dry, but windy.

Tramontane and Mistral will blow with gusts of up to 60 to 80 km/h.

On Corsica, showers will resist during the day.

They will thin out in the afternoon.

The snow will fall around 500/600 m.

The west wind will blow moderately on the extremities with gusts at 60/70 km/h.

The frosts will be widespread over most of France and well marked over a North-East quarter and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, with temperatures between -5 and -1 degrees, down to -9 degrees in Lozère and Aubrac .

Temperatures will be less cold near the coast with 1 to 5 degrees.

On the western half and near the Mediterranean, the maximum will be between 4 and 8 degrees, up to 9 to 13 on the south of Aquitaine, the Côte d'Azur and Corsica.

In the east of the country, the maximum will not exceed 1 to 5 degrees.
