China News Agency, Moscow, January 18 (Reporter Tian Bing) Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at the annual press conference on the 18th that Russia is willing to consider serious proposals from the West for negotiations on the Ukraine issue, but has not yet seen such proposals.

When talking about Russia's relations with the United States and the West, Lavrov pointed out that the United States and the West are trying to "plunder the whole world" under new geopolitical conditions.

Relations between Russia and the West will not go back to the past, and Moscow will not be deceived by the West when signing international documents.

Lavrov said that the European Union is fully obedient to the instructions of the United States, and European industries are being transferred to the United States.

As Western political scientists have said, one of the goals of the United States is to significantly reduce European competitiveness.

In response to the situation in Ukraine, Lavrov said that the target of special military operations is determined by Russia's fundamental and legitimate security interests.

Ukraine should not have military infrastructure that directly threatens Russia's security.

It is impossible for Russia to negotiate with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on his initiative.

He said: "There is no talk of negotiations with Zelensky, because he is legally prohibited from holding negotiations with the Russian government." He also said that the "peace plan" proposed by Zelensky himself was extremely "absurd ".

At the same time, Lavrov said that Russia is willing to consider serious proposals from the West for negotiations on the Ukraine issue, but has not yet seen such proposals.

He believes that it is meaningless to talk to the West only on the Ukraine issue. The West is using the Ukraine issue to undermine the Euro-Atlantic security system built over the years.

The West is confronting Russia through Ukraine with the task of finally solving the "Russian question".

The scale of Western support and aid to Ukraine suggests that it is investing heavily in the war against Russia.
