Putin and Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov viewed the display at the Museum of Defense and Siege of Leningrad.

Food cards were among the exhibits. 

“The cards were stolen from my mother.

She came up to receive, someone gave her hand, grabbed it and ran away, ”the Russian president shared.

Earlier, on the day of the 80th anniversary of the breaking of the siege of Leningrad, Putin laid a wreath at the Motherland monument in St. Petersburg.

The President also laid flowers at the "Frontier Stone" monument on the Nevsky Piglet.
