Lavrov: Americans have closed contacts with Syrians on prisoners of war

According to him, Washington understood that it is necessary to work with those who have a mandate from the people.

He noted that now such tendencies on the part of the United States are manifesting themselves in relation to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. 

“The Americans have closed contacts with the Syrians on prisoners of war,” Lavrov said.

Earlier, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad, in a telephone conversation with the Russian Foreign Minister, condemned the actions of the United States and its allies in the situation around Ukraine.
