The recent wave of violence, including in Stockholm, has dominated media reporting in recent weeks.

Five are in custody for some of the crimes, two of them as young as 15.

- It is a very serious situation.

We come across 13 and 14-year-olds offering to become contract killers.

We have never experienced that before, says police chief at Noa, Karin Götblad.

Wants to reintroduce youth prisons

Already in 2010, she warned that thousands of Swedish youth risked being drawn into crime.

Now she wants to see a combination of preventive and repressive measures to stop the development.

- I was one of those who were involved in abolishing youth prisons in Sweden.

But I think, unfortunately, that's what we need now.

We can't have dangerous killers running away from juvenile facilities.

At the same time, efforts are required at an early age, already in preschool.

- We have large groups of young guys and children who have too little parental supervision and supervision in general.

We need to support the parents early and work more together.

There are lots of things we can do.
