The "Israel in the Gulf" account on Twitter of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed the visit of a Bahraini security delegation to Israel, without specifying the location of the visit.

The account - which defines itself as the official account of the virtual embassy of Israel in the Gulf states - said in a tweet on Tuesday evening that a delegation headed by Major General Dr. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security of the Kingdom of Bahrain, arrived in Israel on an official visit and met with the Commissioner-General of the Israel Police.

So far, no official Bahraini announcement has been made about the visit.

This visit comes days after the Bahraini Gulf Air announced that it would offer discounts on flights from Manama to Tel Aviv, in celebration of the Bahrain national team's victory in the Gulf Cup competitions held in the Iraqi city of Basra.

And in 2020, 4 Arab countries, the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco, signed the Abraham Accord of Normalization with Israel, under the auspices of US President Donald Trump at the time.

Since the signing of what was called the "Abrahamic Accord", economic relations between the two Gulf countries and Tel Aviv have witnessed remarkable growth after the signing of many bilateral trade agreements in many sectors, as trade exchange between Tel Aviv and Manama rose to $6.5 billion last year, and there are direct flights between sides.

Manama and Tel Aviv are negotiating to sign a free trade agreement between them, as it is expected to contribute to removing barriers in a way that allows trade between the two parties to expand to greater rates. Bahrain and Israel agreed, at the end of last October, to sign that agreement before the end of this year.
