A man in his sixties was sentenced on Monday by the Annecy court (Haute-Savoie).

He was being prosecuted for several sexual assaults on two of his nieces, reports

Le Dauphiné

.

The facts occurred in Rumilly between 1997 and 1999 and in Vaulx between 2005 and 2006. The victims are two sisters, who for a long time did not remember what they had suffered.

The defendant does not admit his fault

It was the sexual assault suffered by the daughter of one of the victims that brought back all the memories and caused the filing of two complaints.

Throughout the trial, the sexagenarian did not admit his guilt, to the despair of the two women.

“There is a family that could have been reborn from this hearing”, regretted the prosecutor.

The 60-year-old was sentenced to three years in prison with a deferred committal order.

He is prohibited from contacting the victims and his name will be entered in the automated judicial file of perpetrators of sexual or violent offences.
