The Madrid City Council opens today the “most powerful ultra-fast charging station in the city”.

As this supplement has learned, "it will be located next to the Las Ventas bullring, next to the M-30 and the commercial axis of Alcalá street", at 2 Roberto Domingo street.

The City Council believes that this will facilitate access to potential users of these roads "without deviating from their route."

The Environment delegation justifies the choice of the place by "its usual low demand for parking, in regulated parking spaces that are not dedicated to residents and far from residential buildings."

Repsol will be in charge of operating the infrastructure.

"The station is equipped with four charging units that allow the simultaneous charging of up to eight vehicles."

It has a collection team of 150 kW in direct current, another of 50 kW in direct current and two of 22 kW in alternating current.

«The ultra-fast charging point allows an electric car to be charged to 80% in between 10 and 20 minutes.

The point of up to 50 kW, in 30. That of 22 kW, in an hour and a half.

The City Council indicates that "the origin of electricity is 100% renewable and any plug-in hybrid vehicle and 100% electric can recharge at these points."

The installation incorporates "standard connectors established by the European Union."

The Las Ventas electric station “will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Users will be able to manage the recharge through the Repsol application.

The objective of the Environment delegation is to reach "353 charging points" this year.

“The infrastructure for fast charging has multiplied by four.

At the end of 2019 there were 28 points and today the figure reaches 114”.

In October, the first concession was issued to install and operate 36 rapid electric charging stations.

"It will allow electrifying 108 new places."

The Air Quality and Sustainability Ordinance requires the installation of charging points in all non-residential buildings.

The residential ones must include "channeling for electrical recharging up to 100% of the places" in the new constructions.

The City Council allocated "two million euros" in 2021 to the installation of electrical recharging infrastructures.

The different lines of the Cambia 360 subsidy plan "are aimed at bases for urban fleets with a high volume of trips, charging points in work spaces or resident car parks."

A new call is expected to be launched in 2023.
