Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, said that the State of Qatar does not politicize energy at all, and sees the need to protect food, medicine and energy because they are issues related to people, not governments.

The Qatari foreign minister added - in statements during the 53rd Davos Forum in the Swiss city of Davos - that the State of Qatar will be ready by 2027 with additional capabilities to pump gas to the global market, especially to the European continent.

He said that many policy makers of the transition from fossil energy to clean energy have stopped investing in traditional energy sources over the past years, ignoring that this transition takes a longer time.

In response to a question about Russia's war on Ukraine, the Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs said - in an interview with CNBC - that the State of Qatar has a very clear political position based on not accepting the invasion of another country.

He said that the State of Qatar does not accept the threat or use of force and the targeting of civilians, and this was demonstrated during the vote at the United Nations.

In remarks during a symposium on global challenges in the fields of energy and food at the Davos Economic Forum, the Qatari foreign minister said that the world stands united to address some issues and not others, adding that it is important for the international community to stand with Middle East issues in the same way.
