All of Spain, except the Canary Islands, continues this Tuesday on alert for the storm of snow, rain and rough seas, with

special incidence in Galicia and Aragon

where there is a red warning (extreme risk) due to snowfall and strong waves respectively, reports the Agencia de Meteorology (Aemet) on its website.

The A Coruña coast will record waves up to nine meters high, according to predictions.

The Emergency Services have recovered at dawn this Tuesday in the port of Bermeo the lifeless body of an

80-year-old man

who disappeared on Monday in the

coastal town of Vizcaya, hit by a storm of wind and rain in the last hours.

Aragon

has a red warning for snowfall in the Huesca Pyrenees that will leave an

accumulation of snow of 40 cm in 24 hours

;

these thicknesses correspond mainly to the western regions of the area, from around 800-900 meters, while in the eastern half the accumulations will be around 15-20 cm.

In the rest of the Aragonese community there is a yellow alert for gusts of wind that will reach between 70-80 kilometers per hour.

Galicia has activated the red level in the province of A Coruña due to the combined sea from the northwest with waves between 8-9 meters high;

In the rest, there is an orange alert for snowfall in the mountains of Lugo and Ourense (20 cm) and for wind gusts of up to 100 km per hour in A Coruña and Lugo.

The community of

Andalusia

has an orange warning in the provinces of Almería and Ganada due to maximum gusts of 90 km/h and adverse coastal phenomena with a west wind of 60 to 70 km/h (force 8) and waves of 4 meters;

in Cádiz, Córdoba, Jaén, Málaga and Seville there is a yellow alert due to bad seas or strong wind.

In the northern half of the peninsula,

Asturias

is in orange due to snowfall in southwestern Asturias, in the central zone and mining valleys and in the mountain range and Picos de Europa with an accumulation of snow of 20 cm in 24 hours above 1,200 meters;

There is also an orange warning for a west wind from 62 to 74 km/h (force 8) and sometimes from 89 to 102 km/h (force 10), with waves between 6 to 8 meters.

Cantabria

continues in orange due to gusts of wind of 110 km/h on the coast, waves between 6-8 meters and snow that will leave 20 cm thick in 24 hours above 1,000 meters, although occasionally it will reach 30 cm.

In

Castilla y León

, the provinces of León and Zamora have an orange alert for snowfall in the mountains and Sanabria respectively, where 30 cm are forecast in 24 hours at a level dropping from 1,500 meters to 500-600 meters;

in León, Palencia, Segovia and Soria there is an orange level due to gusts of wind that will oscillate between 90-100 km/h.

Navarra

has activated the orange warning in the Pyrenees due to snow that will accumulate 20 cm in 24 hours above 1,000 meters, although accumulations of about 5 cm are expected at 800 meters;

In La Rioja there is a warning, also orange, for wind gusts of 100 km/h in areas of Iberian La Rioja.

The

Basque Country

continues with an orange level in the province of Vizcaya, due to winds of 110 km/h, and also due to strong waves in Vizcaya and Guipúzcoa with a west wind between 62 and 74 km/h (force 8), temporarily between 75 at 88 km/h (force 9) and waves between 6 to 8 meters.

On the shores of the Mediterranean, the

Valencian Community, the Balearic Islands and the Region of Murcia

maintain the orange warning due to gusts of wind that will reach between 90-100 kilometers per hour;

In the Balearic Islands there is also a warning for strong waves with waves of 5 to 6 meters, although the highest wave could reach 8 to 10 meters.

Catalonia

will also be affected by this storm, with greater intensity in the province of Girona, at an orange level due to a southwest wind of 60 to 70 km/h (force 8) and 4-meter waves;

in the rest there is a yellow warning for rain, snow or wind.

The communities of

Castilla-La Mancha, Madrid, Extremadura and Ceuta and Melilla

are at a yellow level (risk) due to wind, snowfall or rough seas.

The Aemet warns that with the

red alert the risk is extreme with unusual meteorological phenomena of exceptional intensity

and with a very high level of risk for the population, and with the orange alert there is a significant risk in unusual meteorological phenomena and with a certain danger to usual activities.
