A burglary occurred on the night of Friday to Saturday in the town of Pontcharra (Isère).

Fortunately, the gendarmes quickly got their hands on the stolen loot, reports

The thieves broke into the premises of a local company storing metals.

They stole a large quantity of aluminum supposed to be used in the manufacture of kitchen accessories.

The loot found the next day

In total, five tons of aluminum stored in two semi-trailers were stolen.

The total damage was around 1.5 million euros, according to investigators from the Meylan gendarmerie company.

The investigations have fortunately made it possible to get their hands on a large part of the aluminum stock this Saturday, in a shed in Montmélian (Savoie) about ten kilometers from Pontcharra.

The investigation is continuing to try to identify the thieves.
