Doris Svensson was born in 1947 and made a breakthrough in the 60s when, among other things, she performed with the Beatles in SVT's program Drop in.

But she became famous for the hit song "Did you give the world some love today baby" which she recorded in 1970.

The record achieved cult status and became a sought-after collector's item, but the big sales success didn't come until 25 years later.

By then, Doris Svensson had long since given up her music career, but several songs from the album have been used in commercials and TV series.

Inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame

In 2018, she was inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame but was not present in Stockholm when the award was presented.

- It means a lot to her, she is very honored and proud of this recognition so long after.

Mother thinks it's great fun that so many young people listen to her music, said daughter Lotta Olsson, who was there in her mother's place.

According to GP, the singer died last weekend after a period of illness at her nursing home in Gothenburg.

She was 75 years old.
