“The European Union sent on Tuesday the first tranche of assistance in the amount of 3 billion euros from the macro-financial assistance program in the amount of 18 billion,” the EC said in a statement to TASS.
Earlier, the European Commission announced plans to allocate a new tranche of €3 billion to Ukraine this week.
This was announced by the Executive Vice-President of the EC Valdis Dombrovskis on his Twitter.
Political scientist Oleksandr Dudchak noted that this decision of the EC shows that "Ukraine was taken into balance."
