The Russian Defense Ministry announced the interception of Ukrainian drones and multiple rocket launchers.

According to the agency, six Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed by air defense means per day.

“14 rockets of HIMARS and Alder multiple launch rocket systems were intercepted in the areas of the settlements of Udy in the Kharkiv region, Smolyaninovo in the Luhansk People's Republic, Donetsk and Khartsyzsk in the Donetsk People's Republic,” Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, said during a briefing.

In addition, a US-made HARM anti-radar missile and a Ukrainian Tochka-U ballistic missile were shot down.

Aviation, missile forces and artillery hit a number of targets, including the missile and artillery weapons depot of the 114th Territorial Defense Brigade, as well as 82 artillery units in firing positions, manpower and military equipment in 98 districts.

During the counter-battery fight, a Polish-made Krab howitzer, a US-made M109 Paladin self-propelled howitzer, a Grad MLRS combat vehicle, a D-20 howitzer, two Giacint-B howitzers, two Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers, and five D-howitzers were destroyed. thirty.

In addition, four US-made counter-battery radars were destroyed, including two AN / TPQ-50 systems, one AN / TPQ-36 and another AN / TPQ-48.

The situation on the directions of the NWO

In the Kupyansk direction, the artillery of the Western Military District inflicted fire damage on units of the 14th and 92nd mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 103rd territorial defense brigade.

In addition, a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group was destroyed in the Kharkiv region.

The enemy lost in this direction more than 50 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one tank, two infantry fighting vehicles and two pickup trucks.

According to the Ministry of Defense, in the Krasnolimansky direction, as a result of the active actions of the Russian military and artillery fire from the Central Military District on accumulations of manpower and equipment of the 71st Jaeger, 80th and 95th air assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the 15th regiment of the National Guards destroyed over 70 military personnel, three armored combat vehicles and four vehicles.

In the Donetsk direction, units of the Southern Military District, in cooperation with units of the airborne troops, continued offensive operations.

More than 60 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one tank, three armored combat vehicles and six vehicles were destroyed during the day.

In the South-Donetsk direction, artillery units of the Eastern Military District and marines of the Pacific Fleet inflicted fire damage on accumulations of manpower and equipment of the 61st mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Also, two sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed.

In total, the enemy’s losses in this direction amounted to 40 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two armored combat vehicles and three pickup trucks.

Pushilin on the situation on the line of contact

Acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin on January 17 spoke about the situation on the line of contact.

According to him, high-rise buildings in the city of Maryinka, west of Donetsk, have been cleared by the Russian military.

“All skyscrapers have already been cleared and controlled by our units, in particular, the 150th and 5th brigades.

Here we see the work of our servicemen practically day and night, who are clearing the territory meter by meter.

We expect that in the very near future Maryinka will completely come under the control of the DPR, ”Pushilin said on the air of Rossiya 24.

According to him, the units are not advancing so quickly in the Soledar direction, since it is necessary to hold new fortifications occupied by the Russian military, as well as repulse local enemy counterattacks.

At the same time, he said that the forces of PMC "Wagner" continue to clean up Soledar.

“Movement also continues in the vicinity of Soledar.

It was important for us to cut off the communication between Seversk and Artyomovsk, and PMC Wagner, one might say, coped with this task, ”explained Pushilin.

He added that the Sol station is currently under the control of Russian assault groups.
