An investigation was launched after the discovery this Sunday afternoon of a 3-year-old girl alone in a car parked in the center of Chamrousse (Isère).

A passerby noticed the child in the vehicle and became concerned.

He then tried to locate any adults accompanying him in the area, but in vain, says

.

After several minutes of waiting, the witness alerted the police.

The gendarmes of the mountain station then went to the scene.

The car's doors were locked but the owners had left a window slightly down.

Inside, the child was in tears.

His mother finally returned about thirty minutes after the arrival of the soldiers.

She explained that her husband had left with their two other children and that she had gone to the ski equipment store to return the equipment rented by the family.

The process had taken longer than expected because of the crowd.

The little girl was examined by a doctor who deemed her state of health satisfactory.
