A fourth suspect, from Choisy-le-Roy, was arrested and taken into police custody on Tuesday after Monday's brawl which claimed the life of a 16-year-old teenager in Thiais (Val-de-Marne), said Tuesday the parquet floor of Créteil.

The police custody of the four teenagers, aged 15 to 16, has been extended until Wednesday morning, when they will be presented to an investigating judge for their indictment, the prosecution said in a press release. who opened an investigation on Monday for in particular "voluntary homicide committed in an organized gang" entrusted to the judicial police of Val-de-Marne.

“retaliatory action”

Around 8 a.m. Monday, a 16-year-old boy was fatally stabbed outside his high school in Thiais, in a context of rivalry between gangs of young people from Choisy-le-Roi and Thiais, two neighboring towns.

The fatal stab wound was at the level of the heart of the victim, who was unknown to justice.

Also present during the assault, another 16-year-old high school student was injured in the thigh.

The investigation “confirms at this stage the hypothesis of a retaliatory action following a first attack committed a few days earlier”, affirms the prosecution.

According to the press release, two of those in custody are designated either by witnesses or by the injured victim, "as being the perpetrators of the stab wounds on the two victims".

A dozen attackers

It appears from the hearings of the witnesses that the attackers were about ten, "most of them with their faces concealed, armed for two of them with knives and for two others with a golf club and a baseball bat", according to the floor.

Three of the four young people arrested "acknowledged their presence on the scene", "but denied having struck the victims".

A first suspect, from Choisy-le-Roi, was arrested around 10 a.m. on Monday.

He is particularly known to justice "for a series of acts of aggravated violence" which earned him an indictment in a separate case dating from 2021.

This 16-year-old teenager was placed under judicial control "with a ban on going to Orly and Thiais, except for the needs of his schooling".

He had also filed a complaint for violence suffered in December 2022 during a brawl near the high school where Monday's attack took place.
